Online Russian Course



Program (Level A1)
- Introduction to Russian history, geography and culture;
- Cyrillic alphabet;
- The situation of the Russian language in its history and in the present.
- Themes (speaking and writing): the forms of greeting; the Russian patronymic; cities and countries, nationalities and languages; the family; spaces and objects from the home and the classroom; the parts of the day, days of the week, the months and the seasons; colors, numbers and sizes; the professions and day-to-day activities; the money, values and prices.
- Grammar: a simple sentence (affirmative, negative and interrogative); gender and number of nouns; personal, possessive pronouns, interrogative and statements; the adjectives in several cases; regular verbs of the first and second conjugations in the present and past tense; ordinal numerals; order and syntactic functions in simple sentences.

Professor: Elena Bulakh



Professor Elena Bulakh is a lecturer on Russian Language and Culture at SOCIUS/ISEG, Universidade de Lisboa, since 2013, and researcher at SOCIUS and ICS - Instituto de Ciências Sociais.
Her native language is Russian.
PhD in Contrastive, Historical, Typological Linguistics from the Linguistics University of Pyatigorsk (Russia, 2001), degree recognized by Universidade de Lisboa (27-08-2009). Postgraduation’s in Russian and English teaching methodologies (2012-2021).
Has been teaching since 1998 at several Russian and Portuguese Universities.
Member of the International Association of Teachers of Russian Language and Literature (MAPRYAL).
Jury of Master and Doctoral dissertations in linguistics at the University of Minho (2015, 2017, 2018, 2021).
Author of several books and numerous articles related to contrastive linguistics (2001-2021) and editor of works devoted to Russian language, culture, history and art (2008-2021).
Organizer of several international conferences and workshops, and was co-organizer of the first “Vital Topics MBA ISEG” event (25-09-2019), dedicated to 240 years of diplomatic and economic relations between Portugal and Russia.

CERTIFICATION
At the end of each level a certificate is issued by SOCIUS/ISEG-ULisboa. The only way to obtain official international certification is by taking an exam at an accredited entity. Professor Elena Bulakh gives all the indications about this process, and she also gives preparation classes for students who intend to take this exam.

*Discount: the discounted values are only applied to new students, throughout the frequency of the first complete level (60h).

IMPORTANT:
- The course fees are paid through the packs with hours of classes, available above;
- After the registration confirmation, to start the course, you must purchase one of these packs;
- After finishing the hours of the current pack, you must purchase a new pack to continue the course;
- There is no obligation to purchase always the same pack (nº of hours);
- Classes are scheduled by the Teacher, according to the Student's availability;
- The cancellation of a scheduled class must be done up to 12 hours before the scheduled date (otherwise the class time is deducted from the current pack);
- Each pack with hours of classes is valid for 12 months from the date of purchase;
- After passing the level, you must submit a new registration form, without taking advantage of the new student discount.
